  • Conductive or mixed hearing loss
  • Unilateral, bilateral
  • Stable bone conduction hearing thresholds: <50 dB at 500 Hz to approximately 60 dB at 4 kHz - see diagram
  • Absence of active middle ear infections
  • Anatomy that allows for the placement of the FMT on a suitable vibrating middle ear structure
  • No retrocochlear or central hearing disorders
  • Realistic expectations
  • Minimum age: 5 years
