EAS - for partial hearing loss/sloping high-frequency hearing loss

Indications:

  • Partial sensorineural hearing loss
  • Sloping high-frequency hearing loss from approx. 1500 Hz (air conduction) - see red area in chart
  • ≤60% monosyllables at 65dB SPL and optimal acoustic amplification
  • Air-bone gap not >15dB
  • Realistic expectations

Contraindications:

  • Progressive hearing loss
  • Malformation or blockage in the cochlea
  • Otosclerosis, ossification or similar contraindication in outer ear
