Los cambios de temperatura, producidos por el fr\u00edo, el viento o la lluvia, suelen asociarse con una mayor producci\u00f3n de mocos en la nariz y la garganta. Esto puede llegar a causar dolor e infecciones en el o\u00eddo medio, sobre todo, en el caso de los m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os. En consecuencia, la otitis media aguda es el principal motivo por el que los ni\u00f1os acuden al pediatra durante los meses m\u00e1s fr\u00edos. Seg\u00fan datos de la Asociaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Pediatr\u00eda (AEP), m\u00e1s del 90% de los ni\u00f1os tiene un episodio de otitis media aguda antes de los cinco a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Las infecciones de o\u00eddo aparecen, sobre todo, entre los 6 y 18 primeros meses de vida<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aeped.es\/sites\/default\/files\/anales\/47-5-4.pdf\">1<\/a>, siendo a su vez este uno de los periodos m\u00e1s cr\u00edticos en el desarrollo del lenguaje. Si un ni\u00f1o no puede o\u00edr correctamente durante este tiempo, podr\u00e1 tener problemas para aprender a escuchar, hablar e incluso leer. No obstante, si se trata de forma adecuada, no ocasiona problemas de audici\u00f3n permanentes.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 los ni\u00f1os son m\u00e1s vulnerables?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Los ni\u00f1os son m\u00e1s propensos a desarrollar este tipo de infecciones debido a la forma de sus o\u00eddos y caras, la cual es diferente de la de los adultos. En el caso de los adultos, la trompa de Eustaquio se inclina hacia abajo alej\u00e1ndose del o\u00eddo, lo que facilita el drenaje del l\u00edquido del o\u00eddo medio. En cambio, la trompa de Eustaquio de los peque\u00f1os es horizontal, por lo que el l\u00edquido no se drena tan f\u00e1cilmente. Este l\u00edquido, al contener nutrientes, es el caldo de cultivo perfecto para las bacterias y las infecciones de o\u00eddo.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfC\u00f3mo podemos prevenir la otitis media aguda?<\/h3>\n<p>En primer lugar, debemos intentar evitar los resfriados y seguir los consejos de los expertos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tratar enfermedades y alteraciones preexistentes, especialmente resfriados para evitar la acumulaci\u00f3n de secreciones nasales en nariz y garganta.<\/li>\n<li>Salir a la calle bien abrigado\u00a0con bufanda y orejeras para evitar los cambios bruscos de temperatura.<\/li>\n<li>Cuidar la higiene de los o\u00eddos. El uso de difusores de agua marina es lo m\u00e1s recomendable frente al uso de bastoncillos u otros objetos.<\/li>\n<li>Vigilar la calidad del aire. Muchas infecciones est\u00e1n provocadas por los virus que se encuentran en el aire y, por tanto, tambi\u00e9n en nuestras casas. Por este motivo, debemos ventilar con frecuencia las habitaciones donde m\u00e1s tiempo suele pasar la familia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Es posible o\u00edr con una infecci\u00f3n de o\u00eddo<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u201cLos ni\u00f1os que contraen infecciones en el o\u00eddo medio con regularidad deben acudir a un especialista otorrino para su valoraci\u00f3n. Cuando una otitis tiene un nivel avanzado y causa p\u00e9rdida auditiva en el paciente, es importante que el especialista valore la posibilidad de utilizar un dispositivo auditivo, con el fin de que el desarrollo del lenguaje del ni\u00f1o no se vea afectado\u201d, recomienda Julio Rodrigo Dacosta, director general de MED-EL Espa\u00f1a y Portugal.<\/p>\n<p>La tecnolog\u00eda de ADHEAR ofrece una soluci\u00f3n a la p\u00e9rdida auditiva conductiva sin necesidad de someterse a una cirug\u00eda, sin aplicar presi\u00f3n sobre la piel y con un manejo excepcionalmente sencillo.
